Step 2 — Identify the conversation you've been avoiding

You know the one. Maybe it's one of these:

  • The team member who consistently misses deadlines but always has a reason

  • The colleague whose communication style is affecting the rest of the team

  • The high performer who's started disengaging and you're not sure why

  • The direct report who pushes back on every piece of feedback you give

  • The person you've pulled up before — and nothing has changed

Step 3 — Open the Conversation Planner

This is your pre-conversation tool. It walks you through your core concern, the specific examples you'll use, the impact you'll name, and the outcome you're aiming for. Fill it in before you book the meeting.

Step 4 — Draft your opening with the Script Builder

The hardest part of any feedback conversation is the first 60 seconds. The Script Builder helps you write your Acknowledge and Lay Out steps in advance so you walk in clear, not scrambling.

Step 5 — Have the conversation, then debrief with the Reflective Leader Worksheet

After the conversation, use the worksheet to capture what went well, what you'd do differently, and what you committed to following up on. This is where the learning compounds.
